Description

This workshop will focus on the teacher being a “facilitator of learning” and not just the “conveyor of knowledge”. Ways to assign many fewer problems for practice and assignments and get much more mathematical understand and ability from what is being completed. Teachers will be asked to formulate questions for a variety of lessons that will ask the students to think and discuss deeper than just working on an assignment of 20–30 similar math problems. Techniques for getting students to both verbalize and discuss what they are doing mathematically will be discussed and modeled.

 This workshop will be held at Hobart High School in Hobart, IN.  You will enter through Door 1 and will meet in Room LC111.
