*S.P.A.R.K. Educator Conference and Retreat

Description

The S.P.A.R.K Conference is one of Indiana's leading conferences for educators at every level looking for effective, strength-based strategies to support Social Emotional Learning and Proactive/Purposeful Approaches to Reaching Kids. The call for action is loud and clear as evidence mounts for the effectiveness of an intentionally integrated approach to social, emotional and academic development wherever learning happens - in our schools and across communities.

This insightful conference is designed for educators – by educators – and is poised to be a highly well-known conduit for educators to understand both emerging strategies and tested solutions for improving student behavior, learning, and social-emotional competencies of all students, especially students affected by trauma and other adverse experiences. Attendees will participate in essential learning guided by subject matter experts, such as Kristin Souers, author of Resilient Learners, thought leaders from schools, universities, and educational development centers around the country who will share their expertise in several key areas such as:

  • Fostering Resilient and Equitable Learning Environments Where Trust Is Strong.
  • Using Neuroscientific Research to Develop and Implement Alternative
Approaches to Behavioral Interventions and School Discipline?
  • Understanding the Scientific Truth About What Really Motivates the
    Unmotivated Student.
  • Implementing Mindfulness Within the Classroom and Throughout the School.
  • Knowing the Most Powerful Strategies for Eliminating Chronic Disruptive
    Behavior.
  • Building a Comprehensive, Integrated School that Meets Students' Social
    Emotional Needs
  • Supporting Students Living with Trauma, Violence and Chronic Stress
This is an opportunity for teachers, administrators, and school support personnel to make a solid and timely investment in your students' academic, emotional and social growth as leading experts gather to exchange knowledge on innovation in research and practice in the areas of Behavior, Social-Emotional Learning, and Neuroscience. Throughout multiple sessions, attendees will gain knowledge and key skills, along with connecting and sharing practices with other teachers across the state. There will even be opportunities for educators to take care of themselves using mindfulness, yoga and the ability to experience a sensory room!
